One of double consonants at the end of the syllable always gets silent unless you have ㅇ in the next syllable. 얇게 >> 얄게(ㅂ dropped) >> 얄께 (ㄱ changes to ㄲ by 경음화) 닭을 >> 달글(연음} 앉다 >> 안다 (ㅈ dropped) >> 안따 (ㄷ changes to ㄸ by 경음화) 읊다 >> 읖다 (ㄹ dropped) >> 읍다(ㅍ cannot be pronounced at the last part of the syllable, gets changed to ㅂ) >> 읍따 (ㄷ changes to ㄸ by 경음화) This is the rule, not the exception.
